Regional sales intelligence to guide development budget allocation
Analyzed 16,598 video game titles spanning 1980–2016 to identify regional demand patterns and genre preferences across North America, Europe, Japan, and other markets. The analysis revealed Europe overtook North America as the largest market by 2016, and delivered data-backed budget allocation recommendations.
GameCo's development and marketing budgets were allocated without clear regional demand signals. Genre investments weren't aligned with market preferences, and the team had limited visibility into competitive positioning.
Used pivot tables by region, genre, and year, market share trend analysis, franchise and publisher aggregation, and competitive benchmarking to identify actionable patterns.
Full stakeholder presentation with regional analysis, genre performance breakdowns, and data dictionary delivered to the GameCo Strategy Team.
